ITINERARY
Day 01 : Medan – Parapat
Arrive at Polonia International airport. “WELCOME TO MEDAN”. After clearance at the immigration meet and greet with tour guide. A welcome snack box and cold towel wait in the bus. Tour proceeds to Samosir Island, distance 176km, a 4hours journeys from Medan. Tours passing by some plantation such as palm oil, tobacco, cinnamon and chocolate. En route short break will be at Pematang Siantar, the second biggest city after Medan. Shopping at paten shop for local tasty various snack made from peanut called ay-tam, ting ting teng teng. Upon arrival at Parapat, transfer to Hongkong restaurant for lunch. Check-in hotel. Rest of the day free program. Dinner served at hotel. (L, D)

Day 02 : Samosir Island Tour – Parapat – Brastagi
Breakfast at hotel. An exciting tour of the island to see the culture, traditional houses and villages, and the ancient site will be arranged. Firstly will visit Simanindo village to see the Batak Traditional dance and legend dance of Sigale-gale, museum of Batak. Next village will be Lumban Suhi-suhi to see traditionally weaving ULOS, traditional Batak’s cloth. Continue to Ambarita village to see the Table and Stone chair, used to punish prisoner and enemies into dead during King Siallgan kingdom. Transfer to Toledo restaurant for lunch. Next village is Tomok, to see the old stone tomb of king Sidabutar and shopping local souvenir. Across the lake to get Parapat then proceed to Brastagi, a highland resort at Karo Regency. En route stop for panorama view of Lake Toba from the hill of Simarjarungjung. Then continues to Pematang Purba to see the Long House, the palace of King Simalungun in old time. Next stop at Tongging village to see sipisopiso waterfall and view of Lake Toba at the northern tip. Stop at fruit, vegetables and flower plantation on the way to brastagi. Upon arrival at Brastagi transfer hotel for overnight. (B, L, D)

Day 03 : Brastagi – Bahorok
Breakfast at hotel. Continue to a short break at fruit and flower market to hunt local souvenir, then visit gundaling hill for viewing Brastagi town and 2 active famous volcano, mount sibayak and sinabung. Next to Peceren village to see traditional houses of Batak Karo. Drive back to Medan, a distance of 66KM, 2hours drive via sembahe resort. En route stop Kenanga Indonesia restaurant for Lunch. Tour proceed to Bahorok to see the orang utan rehabilitation center. A journey of 4 hours to the site. Upon arrival check-in at hotel. dinner served at hotel. evening free program. (B, L, D)

Day 04 : Bahorok – Medan City Tour
Breakfast at hotel. visit orang utan at the feeding site on breakfast time around 7am by climbing a 400m into the hill of mount leuser. Back to hotel. leisure time. After lunch at hotel, drive back to medan and upon arrival, Medan city tour will be started from visiting crocodile farm at Sunggal, then Maimoon Palace, the great mosque of Medan, Chinese temple, kesawan deli parijs van Sumatra, merdeka esplanade, post office and the old debour hotel. Then check-in to hotel. Rest of the day free program. Dinner will be served at Sheraton restaurant. (B, L, D)

DAY 1 ARRIVAL MEDAN – BOHOROK / BUKIT LAWANG
Arrive Medan then We will fetch you from the airport. In the morning there is a city tour of Medan taking in the remaining original Dutch, English, Chinese and Malay architecture. Afterwards drive to Bukit Lawang, the Orang Utan rehabilitation centre located in Gunung Leuser National park. This is one of the largest national park in the world containing over 800,000 ha of virgin rainforest. In this impressive nature reserve you can see the orang utans feeding in their natural environment. This involves a 45 minutes walk through the jungle to reach the feeding grounds of the orang utan. The sportive hiker can take exciting jungle trips here. However walkers must be fit and have suitable, large profile shoes. Overnight stay in a hotel on the banks of the beautiful Bohorok rivier.

DAY 2 BUKIT LAWANG – BERASTAGI (Breakfast,lunch)
Short trekking in Gunung Leuser park to visit the feeding site where you can see the Orang Utans while fed and trained to live in the wild. After the visit, you have chance to take extra jungle trek for a few hours with local ranger deeper in the park to explore more tropical flora and fauna (own account). Those not wishing to take this option can return to hotel and relax before driving to Berastagi. Visit to local fruit market before check-in hotel Berastagi.

DAY 3 BERASTAGI – LAKE TOBA / SAMOSIR ISLAND (Breakfast,lunch)
Drive to lake Toba, one of the deepest and largest crater lake in the world with stop at Dokan, a Batak Karo village with a number of traditional houses still being used where eight families live in together in each houses. Visit to Sipiso piso waterfall and the long house of king Simalungun. Arrive in Parapat, a small town on the east shore of lake Toba across onboard to Samosir island where you will stay for two nights.

DAY 4 SAMOSIR TOUR (Breakfast,lunch)
Tour around the island visit to Ambarita where the remnant megalithic culture of Batak stands in front of Batak traditional houses. Continue to Simanindo to see the folkdance performed by the villagers as well as children learning in school. Before back to the hotel visit Tomok village with the old historical tombs of Batak chieftain.

DAY 5 SAMOSIR ISLAND – MEDAN (Breakfast.lunch)
Across back the lake to Parapat and drive to Medan passing by town of Pematang Siantar with its vast view of oil palm and rubber plantation. Upon arrival city signtseeing visit to the Sultanate palace of Malay Deli “Maimoon”, historical mosque AlMashum and Buddhist temple. Rest of day is free at leisure.

DAY 2 SIANOK CANYON WALK (Breakfast,Lunch)
Walk and hike trough Sianok, a steep-walled canyon situated at outskirts of Bukittinggi. It is an incredibly picturesque area and lush green with river winding at its bottom. Walk ends in Koto Gadang from where you will be picked up and taken back to Bukittinggi. Afternoon to relax at hotel or wander around the town with its Dutch colonial influence.

DAY 3 BUKITTINGGI – HARAU VALLEY – BUKITTINGGI (Breakfast,lunch)
Drive to Harau, a valley as well as nature reserve famous with its huge rock formations. Upon arrival stroll around the valley with local guide. One of the highlights to see is waterfall. Afternoon back to Bukittinggi and visit to colorful market Pasar Atas and Fort de Kock before reaching the hotel.

DAY 4 BUKITTINGGI – LAKE MANINJAU (Breakfast,lunch)
Leave Bukittinggi for Maninjau crater lake, one of Sumatra’s famous sights. Enroute stop at Puncak Lawang, to see traditional sugar refinery powered by buffalo (activity subject to availability). From here you also can take optional walk with local guide downhill to reach the hotel (own account). Those not wishing to walk can take our car to hotel.

DAY 5 LAKE MANINJAU – PADANG (Breakfast,lunch)
Scenic drive via west coast (Hindian ocean) to Padang, the capital city of West Sumatra province. Enroute stop at Artha beach. Arrive Padang city sightseeing visit to Padang beach and Kampung Cina “China town” where old colonial buildings still line along the streets.

Afterwards walking to the Bank of the River and then by riding the elephant explore the river and the Jungle and the possibility to see several kind of flora and fauna in the rain tropical forest, the Elephan riding will take about one hour, after Elephan Riding tracking to Waterfall where you will walk inside the jungle to see a nature and wonderfull waterfall, explore the river where the possibility to see thousand of butterfly on the beach of the river and contact with local peoples and the possibility to see the Elephant washing at the river.

After B’fast drive to Bukit Lawang by motor bike / Jeep ( it takes 2,5 hours ), on the way stop at several plantation for rubber, cocoa and palm oil, arrival at Bukit Lawang , the Orang Utan rehabilitation centre located in Gunung Leuser National park. This Wampu river rafting trip is a fascinating adventure with many grade 2 rapids.You will make the rafting with local guides. The trip takes about 4 hours down the Wampu river. You will enjoy the beautiful nature, sailing on a wide jungle river in the midst of unspoiled impressive huge rainforest. All around you can see and hear the tropical wildlife. Half way we will make a stop at a waterfall where you can take a fresh shower and lunch in the open air. Lunch is included. After lunch you will continue the rafting for about 2 hours until the bridge of the Bohorok river. After arrive in Bohorok we will transfer you to your hotel. We will arrive at the Hotel at 5.30 Pm. Here you can view two active volcanoes, the Sibayak and the Sinabung. Visit to local fruit market and Take a bath at Spring Hot Water before check-in hotel Berastagi . DAY 5 Brastagi – Samosir on lake Toba (Breakfast,Lunch,dinner)
Beautiful route through the Karo highlands via pineapple, clove and ginger plantations. Stops during the trip at the tribal kings’ house of the Simalungun Batak in Pematang Purba and at the Sipiso Piso water falls with very amazing panorama. In the afternoon we arrive in Prapat from where we cross Lake Toba to the island of Samosir by fery. The car goes with us. Overnight stay on Samosir island, your hotel is situated right at the lake side. Lunch will be served En route. Dinner will be serve at the local Restaurant

DAY 6 SAMOSIR ISLAND – SIPIROK / PADAND SIDEMPUAN (Breakfast,Lunch,Dinner)
In the early morning after b’fast you will cross the lake to Prapat from where you leave for Padang Sidempuan. Along the southern shores of lake Toba with its lovely ricefields and huge Batak kings’ graves you travel through the Toba highlands. During the trip you will pass hot sulphur springs at Sipoholon and Lumban Binanga; a typical Toba Batak village, pineapple farm, market place in Balige. From Tarutung, the center of the Protestant Batak church, you continue driving until Padang Sidempuan, with view of marching mountains “Bukit Barisan” a city in the middle of Mandailing land. Overnight stay in hotel Natama in Padang Sidempuan. Lunch will be served En route. Dinner will be serve at the local Restaurant.

Stop to see Sijornih waterfall, Sihepeng botanical garden, moslem school, gold seeker if activity available, Panti and Bonjol where a monument marking the equator. City sightseeing visit to the clock tower “Jam Gadang” which overlooks the colourful market Pasar Atas, Dutch fort called De Kock, Sianok valley and Pandai Sikat, a village famous with its hand weaving and wood carving. Travel further to Silindung Bulan palace, a site of ancient Minangkabau Kingdom where women ruled in matrilineal society Lunch will be served En route.
